Case Summary
Fowler | Helsel | Vogt secured a settlement of $425,000 on behalf of our client.
Facts of the Case
Our Client was having some difficulty managing his blood sugar at his independent living center. Emergency personnel were called and an ambulance loaded him onto a gurney and placed him in the back for a ride to a nearby hospital for observation. The Defendant maneuvered the Ambulance into the number two lane and directly in a large path of standing water causing the ambulance to lose control and hydroplane directly into the center divider. The violent collision caused the ambulance to overcorrect and veer sharply back to the right across all lanes of traffic. A second vehicle was following behind in the number two lane when it was confronted with the disabled ambulance. Unable to stop in time, the second vehicle slammed into the left front side of the ambulance. Our client was thrown off the gurney and landed on his chest, face down still inside the ambulance.
Treatment
Our client suffered a hematoma and a lower back injury.
Legal Strategy

Settlement Terms
Fowler | Helsel | Vogt successfully negotiated payment of $425,000 from the Defendant Ambulance company.
