    FHV represented a teenager who was injured while practicing football in a park owned and managed by the City of Fresno. While running during football practice, FHV’s client tripped and fell forward, hitting his mouth on a metal bracket protruding from the ground. FHV filed a premises liability lawsuit in Fresno County Superior Court seeking compensation for the teenager’s medical and dental bills, as well as for the teenagers' pain and suffering. At the outset of the case, the City of Fresno denied any liability. Following depositions and discovery, however, the City of Fresno eventually agreed to resolve the case for $70,000.

Our client, a homeless woman, would often turn to the rescue mission for shelter, showers, clothing and essential food. On multiple occasions, our client was required to endure unwanted groping, sexual harassment, and sexual requests from employees of the Merced Rescue Mission in order to be provided food and clothing. And when our client refused these sexual advances, she was banned from the rescue mission until she was hungry and desperate enough to return and submit to the employee's sexual demands. FHV is seeking general, special and punitive damages in the lawsuit.
